In the range of process automation, wireless links are already introduced successfully. With the new developments in series5, Bluetooth® has finally reached substation automation to enable an easier and faster configuration of RTU such as field devices, telecontrol units or gateways.
Bluetooth® offers a wireless connection from programming unit (PU) to target system via radio. These are the benefits:
